Chapter 6: Sooner or Later, I’ll Make Her Call Me Daddy
Xi Xingye immediately sat up straight, his hoodie slipped to the side.
That crazy woman actually really chased him all the way here?
“Quick! Pass me a bottle!”
He remembered Shen Qingci’s eyes, feeling a cold chill. “No, wait!. Get me a goddamn knife!”
“Young Master Xi, it’s chef Liu from your house. He said it’s urgent business regarding the Young Madam…”
“Is he freaking kidding me? Tell him to get lost! He nearly gave me a heart attack!”
Xi Xingye sat back down on the sofa and continued fiddling with the cards in his hand.
A moment later, the waiter popped his head back in again. “Young Master Xi, sorry, someone else is here for you.”
Xi Xingye paused, looking at the waiter suspiciously. “Don’t tell me it’s another chef.”
They waiter smilked akwardly. “Not this time, Young Master. It’s a woman.”
Slap!
He slammed his cards onto the table. “Bring me the knife!”
“It’s Ms.Lou. She’s asking for you.”
The moment he heard the name, the aggression vanished, replaced by confusion.
Lou Xinyue? Why the hell is she doing here?
“Tell her I’m not seeing her!”
A wave of irritation surged in his chest. He ruffled his hair, grabbed his glass, and downed the drink in one go.
Since Lou Xinyue had chosen to go abroad back then, she should have known that she had already completely missed out on a rare treasure like him.
Outside, Lou Xinyue heard Xi Xingye’s voice refusing to see her. Her face didn’t change at all, as though it was exactly what she had expected.
As the heavy doors begain to swing shut, she peered through the narrowing gap. She could see the man with his head lowered. His messy hair fell over his forehead, hiding his eyes and making it impossible to read his expression.
As if driven by some instinct, he looked over just as the door was about to shut completely.
Their eyes met.
Lou Xinyue curled her lips, clearly in a good mood. She know Xi Xingye had always been proud. He couldn’t let go of her, nor was it possible for him to. He just didn’t want to admit it.
As she turned to leave, a woman approach from the other end of the long hallway.
The moment they crossed paths, Lou Xinyue froze and looked back. The woman had a striking silhouette. Her back was straight with her long hair falling loose down on her shoulders. Her legs were long and slender. And with those biker boots she was wearing, she looked badass and hauntingly beautiful.
Lou Xinyue was secretly surprised. There were countless beauties in the capital, but this woman was different.
Seeing this, the waiter whispered, “Ms. Lou, the lady who just passed is the second daughter of the Shen family.”
“The Shen family’s second daughter?” Lou Xinyue mockingly smiled. “So, that’s Shen Qingci, the one Xingye married?”
Everyone knew Shen Qingci’s history. Back then, she had gone to prison for a mistake, and was leter sent abroad by the Shen family. Even now that she had returned, she was still the laughingstock of the city’s elite circle. She’s the stain on the Shen family’s name.
A wild little nobody from nowhere…
Lou Xinyue took out a mirror, checkig her makeup, smiling.
She knew it well. Xi Xingye liked women who were gentle and soft, and despise those who were rough and uncultured.
Sooner or later, he’d crawl back to the palm of her hand!
Lou Xinyue walked away confidently in her heels as she put away her mirror.
Meanwhile, inside the room, Xu Zijie was on edge. He was afraid that Xi Xingye might suddenly lose it and take it out on him. He quickly suggested playing Truth and Dare to lighten the mood.
Xi Xingye didn’t want to play, but got dragged in anyway, and lost in the very first round.
“Truth! Brother Xi, pick Truth!”
After Xu Zijie’s enthusiastic hype and a quick look, someone finally dared to ask, “ Brother Xi, describe your curreent wif…”
A sharp glare from Xi Xingye cut him off mid-sentence.
The man quickly corrected himself. “That Shen woman.”
Xi Xingye leaned back, recalling the gate she had torn down. He disdainfullyscoffed.
“A total savage.”
Xi Xingye downed another half glass. The alcohol got to his head and his ego went into overdive.
“She gave me half an hour to go home? What a joke! Since when does Xi Xingye take orders from a woman? I’ve seen plenty of women like her. Tomorrow I’ll send everyone a video of her kneeling. Just wait, I’ll make her call me Da…”
Before the word ‘Daddy’ could leave his mouth, two streaks of cold, silver light flashed before his eyes.
It was a blurred streak of lightning for everyone.
Clang! Clang!
Two knives struckk the table right in front of Xi Xingye.
Under the massive force of the impact, the tempered glass tabletop cracked like a spiderweb.
In an instant, the entire room went into a suffocating silence, as if someone had hit mute.
Every eye in the room buldged out of their heads. Then, the screaming started. “Ahhh What the fuck?! Who did that?”
The party atmostphere shattered instantly. Every head turned toward the door, where the source of the blades was. A woman in black leatther jacket and pants stood there. Her cold, detached eyes scanned the room like a predator. Finally, her eyes locked onto Xi Xingye.
These trust-fund kids spent their times partying hard, but when things turned dangerous, they valued their lives above all else. Sensing a lethal threat, they immediately ducked, dived behind sofas and under tables, clutching their heads in terror.
“Security!” Xi Xingye shouted.
A team of guards finally rushed up, painting heavily.
“Young Master Xi!”
The lead guard looked like he was on the verge of a mental breakdown. “Young Master, it’s not that we didn’t try to stop her! We just…we couldn’t catch her!”
Who would’ve expected a woman to climb the water pipes like a monkey and vanish into the fourth-floor window in a blink of an eye?
Xi Xingye was fuming, his jaw got tighted. He clenched his fists and prepared to lunged forward, only to be hauled back by Xu Zijie.
“Brother Xi, stay calm! Remember what the Old Master said!”
Sure enough, Xi Xingye stopped.
“Brother Xi…” someone stepped forward, trembling. “Since the Young Madam is here, maybe we should…leave first…”
Seeing no objection from Xi Xingye, the man braved it and went to pull the door open. He yanked twice, but the door wouldn’t budge. He looked up, only to find a boot planted firmly against the doorframe.
“Leaving so soon?” Shen Qingci’s leg was extended in a flawless full vertical split, briefly pinning the doorframe before she kicked the door shut.
“It’s our first meeting,” she said coldly. “I’ve brought you all a little gift.”
She tossed the heavy bag onto the floor.
Something in the bag moved. The young masters screamed, nearly tripping over each other to get away.
Shen Qingci stepped forward, pulled her knives out of the table and sliced the bag open. Two chickens flew out, screeching and flapping.
Everyone: “AHHH!”
Ignoring the noise, she calmly began to boil water, drain the blood, and pluck the feathers. Her movement was swift and clean.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Each chop precisely landed on the chicken meat. Each blow echoed through the silent room, making everyone’s skin crawl as if the blade were hovering over their own throats.
Half an hour later.
The luxury private suite had been transformed. The expensive imported liquors that once cluttered the table had been cleared away, replaced by a single pot sitting in the center. Everyone was forced to sit around, each of them receiving a bowl of soup from Shen Qingci with both hands in forced respect.
The first sip was a nightmare. The moment the liquid touched their tongues, a nauseating, gamey stench flooded their mouths and shot straight up into their sinuses. It was like drinking liquid iron mixed with swamp water. It was so foul their eyes nearly rolled back into their heads.
Someone started to gag, but before he could spit it out, a cold flash suddenly passed before them.
Clink. Clink.
Shen Qingci casually flicked the edge of the knife, looking bored.
A shiver ran through the group.
Without another word, they squeezed their eyes shut, tipped their heads back, and finished the entire bowl.
Every face in the room was drained of color, pale as ghosts. The aftertaste of the soup lingered like a curse.
Shen Qingci’s cold gaze swept over them. She smiled scarily. “You all stayed out this late keeping Xi Xingye company. How thoughtful! Please drink more. I’ll be coming by often to deliver more of this in the future.
Another wave of shivers ran through the room.
Often? Deliver? Deliver what? Their death certificates?
She pressed the service bell. The waiter came in and hurriedly clearing away the evidence of her impromptu butchery and cookware. The guys started to relax, thinking they’d survived.
Then she spoke again with an eerie, haunting voice.
“Which one of you is Xu Zijie?”
